Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena

It is not easy to get a good rating, especially when the expectations have been set high by a similar genre movie. EKEH (Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena) faced this challenge. Having seen Bluffmaster recently, EKEH had to be atleast as good as it in the base con story to deserve a good rating. And guess what - it was.

This Fardeen Khan and Koena Mitra starrer could have done wonders with a better actress, less westernized scenes and better music. Pritam, the music-director, did not impress much as he did in his debut album with Yashraj films - Dhoom. Though, Ishq Jhoota was good. Choreography department did seem to put in an appreciable effort.

There were unwanted songs and scenes but then they can be forgiven for the sudden interest that the movie arouses especially in the second half. Being a con story, it would be grave injustice to tell anything about it. Ofcourse, Fardeen Khan plays a con man and Feroz Khan, a bigger and civilized con. This movie had the father-son duo act together after Janasheen, Feroz Khan's home-production.

It was nice to see Feroz Khan after such a long time (I remember him last from Dayavan, a run-away hit) but it was sad to see him compromise his acting skills for his stylish touch. Kay-Kay has impressed. He had impressed in "Main, Meri Patni Aur Woh" just like this film by sheer acting prowess and not looks.

Rating: 3.0/5.0
