Gangster

Everything is fair in love and war! But given current trends, seems like everything is fair as far as marketing is concerned. The movie was supposed to be a take off on the life of Abu Salem and Monica Bedi. I suspect it being anywhere close to it.

However, the movie deserves the credit it owns. A well-directed movie with good songs, good cinematography. Kangna Raunat (main protagonist of the movie) is next discovery of Anurag Basu (the director) after Mallika Sherawat in Murder.

Abhijeet (the singer) shines in the song 'Lamha Lamha'. His voice adds a different intriguing interest. There's nothing much to say about choreography. Cinematography deserves a nomination in Filmfare awards.

Story: Mr. gangster (Mr. Ahuja) falls in love with Ms. Kangna who always craved for a homely life. But afterall Ahuja is a gangster, and he can't spend all his time with Ms. Kangna. He's to hide himself from the cops, fight other gangsters, etc, etc. Enter Mr. Hashmi, a friend who helps Kangna and they fall in love. Ahuja comes to know about this and he changes himself to earn Kangna's love but its too late. Kangna is pregnant and she always wanted a family after all - she chooses Hashmi over Ahuja... but fate had something else stored for them.

Kangna manages to deliver a good performance though there are scenes where she can definitely improve by leaps and bounds. She gets a powerful author-backed role in this movie. Lucky for a starter. I am yet to see 'Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi' but Shiney Ahuja delivers a ho-hum performance. Emraan Hashmi is passable.

This movie is a nice weekend watch.
